Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Nice, renovated, and very clean and comfortable family apartment in a "normal" part of Naples but within walking distance of key attractions in the centre of town (Spaccanapoli, etc.). We had everything we needed in the unit. Really good restaurants within walking distance, where we often ended up eating dinner rather than in the tourist heart of the city. Amazing pasticceria/cafe (Casertano) nearby that we went to every morning for coffee and incredible pastries. Host was very communicative before, throughout, and after, with tons of suggestions on places to go, see, and eat. Put everything together, and it's a good choice, great value (when excluding the parking costs).

Negative: Didn't love the parking experience but can't fault the host as lack of parking was known in advance. Local (recommended) garage (few options around) charged EUR 25 per day (or part thereof) for our compact car, which added a chunk to the cost of our stay, so something to keep in mind for those coming by car. From our three days in the neighbourhood, parking on the hectic avenue did not look like a realistic - or reassuring - option.

Summary: Great, comfortable spot walking distance to the heart of Naples.
